The band Soundgarden was named after an actual place in Louisiana called the Sound Garden, where a fenced-in, oval, dirt track was maintained for half a century and used for barefoot races by the locals. Eventually, this tradition fell out of popularity, and with no money to maintain the surrounding fence and the wet weather it quickly oxidized. An attempt to revive the tradition for a charity race ended with them completely breaking their rusty Cajun run.
