This week's Randy the Cat comic is a creepy thing for your home. Why save your money when you can have this grotesque thing?

Plake accidentally smacked his hand into his "happy apple" chime toy while lying on the floor! He played with a toy for the first time!

There's another new Randy the Cat comic strip this weekend, despite all the business with the new baby. That's because of the magic of automatic updates! This week's strip also features that loutish mouse you all adore.

My son is trying to adopt the art of comedy, but so far he cannot talk or even smile. All of his jokes are actually farts, which is a bit crude but sometimes his timing is so impeccable you have to laugh.

Introducing Plake

This is the newest addition to the blog, Plake. Although he already has a gmail account he will not have blog writing privileges for a while. His grammar is appalling.

Take Me Away
posted by clake at 10:13 AM (0) comments

This week's Randy the Cat is about a mouse.

Also, remember that Randy the Cat clothing items are now available. I'm not saying this so much as a shameless advertisement, because really in my mind the most important thing you can do with Randy the Cat is to read it. But, if you have ever felt inclined to wear Randy on a t-shirt or "hoodie" or as a tiny button on your 80's style jeans jacket, I want you to know that these options are now available to you.

The Friday Evening Post
posted by clake at 6:17 PM (3) comments

With my wife pregnant, and a season of weddings on the horizon, I thought you might like an update on the details of our life together.

Klake continues to carry a baby inside of her, and desperately wants it to come out. Pregnancy is in some ways a very exciting venture, and in other ways like an illness. Also, we're both very enthused to finally have this invisible sidekick join the team for real.

It is a little strange looking ahead into the great mystery of what sorts of things are going to be happening in years to come with an additional human member of the family. As we drove home from work tonight, Klake wondered about the possibility that, if we get the child into a good school district, he'll feel poorer than all his friends. We aren't really poor - I'm feeling fairly financially secure right now - but we don't do a lot of the weird-ass spending that a lot of other people do on designer stuff, and I like to think I'll make it so that little Baby Lake never sends a text message until he's 22 years old. In the end of our conversation, though, we both felt that children are pretty good at picking up on stuff, and he'll know that we're just outstandingly cheap, not poor.

Dinner time. See ya, guys.

Always Brush and Floss
posted by klake at 10:38 AM (0) comments

Today's Randy the Cat is sort of about dentistry.

Update (5/6/07): For those who have been long anticipating Randy the Cat apparel and other wearables, I have set up a Cafepress shop. Included are various styles and qualities of t-shirts, track sweaters, etc. Also, toward the bottom of the page you'll find awesome Randy the Cat mini buttons that would look amazing on your jean jacket or school bag.

Hey, you haven't heard from me much lately, have you? This post will be no different, just a link to a comic strip. This just sort of reminds me of conversations I've had with my wife lately.

Update: Klake's due date is still May 21st! The baby is full-term, though, so this thing could safely happen at any moment! Let's get this baby had!
