Sour Milk

I thought it should be noted for posterity that I bought a small carton of milk for lunch today that turned out to have been improperly sealed, resulting in a spoiled beverage. I discovered that the reason it's called "sour milk" is that it is, in fact, very sour in taste. There was no doubt as to the milk's freshness. It was definately rancid tasting. I had to run to the nearest garbage can and spew the vile liquid into the trash, then I went back to the vendor from which I purchased it and got myself a new carton, which I carefully inspected. My lunch companions felt, rightfully, that the whole situation was quite amusing.
Comments:
Soy milk, also, becomes sour and rancid after some time. I, too, had to run to the nearest trash can.
