Today's Randy the Cat comic strip is about baptism.
Also of note: I've been keeping this under wraps for a while, but have decided I can go ahead and reveal that I'm writing two additional blogs. Say hello to The Clever Dad and UFO Clearinghouse. They've only been going for about a week and a half. The intention is that I will post to each blog every weekday. Both were started on something of a whim, so we'll see where they go as far as intention, editorial tone, goals, and success.
The Clever Dad is an attempt to document interesting ideas, fun projects, and money-saving tips I amass in my adventure as a half-time stay-at-home dad.
UFO Clearinghouse could be said to have started on a more whimish whim than the dad blog. I was thinking about how easy it might be to put up a new picture of a UFO every day and see what comes of it. So I went ahead and did it. Now that it lives, this blog is having to deal with some existential questions, such as why it exists at all. Realizing almost immediately that it wasn't enough to post the latest UFO sighting five times a week, I'm finding that I need to develop an attitude toward these stories and address how they fit into my overall worldview. This leads to what I think may be the most interesting part of the blog, interspersed between the stories of flakey nutters are stories of hard science about the origins of life and the vastness of the universe. So I guess the goal is to present weird UFO stories from a skeptical, humorous perspective, while using them to bring up the far more amazing truths emerging from scientific study of the natural world.
I will continue to update Randy the Cat weekly, as I cannot imagine a world in which I do not draw Randy the Cat.

I am addicted to creating blogs. I tried to keep it in check and then I googled maximum blogger blogs and came across a guy who said he had 300. After that, nothing can hold me back. Your courage to debut inspires me. Perhaps someday soon I will unleash some of my monsters.Post a Comment
