I finished a short story I started about a week-and-a-half ago. Anyone who wants to take a look and offer criticism is welcome to email me and request a copy. In fact, I'll go so far as to say I'd really like some good, solid criticism from anyone who will offer it. So far, only Klake has read it. She likes it quite a bit, though that may be equivalent to "My mom thinks I'm cool." Klake and I bought bicycles yesterday. We had owned helmets for at least a week before finally taking the plunge and plunking down the money for bikes at the Target store. They're "cruiser" style, 7-speed, with those handlebars that bend backward. Not the sort of thing you'd take on RAGBRAI, perhaps, but great for getting around. Already, though, I find that my shifting mechanism needs a bit of adjustment. On a recent ride my chain slipped off twice. Maybe the thing just needs to be better lubricated. Any advice from avid cyclers out there? Klake bought flowers and planted them in pots on either side of the garage door. They're marigolds in various shades of yellow and orange. Friday evening, while the sun was still well above the horizon, Klake and I walked to a nearby empty lot and tossed around a foam glider her parents (the Easterbunny) had given us. What fun! A word of caution, though, those things'll break on you real easy. Though, even with the wings gone you can still get some distance. That is about all I have for this update. Remember that if you want to have a look at my short, fictional, prose thing, you can email me at (MY).(NAME)(at)(GEEEE-mail)(daht)(what??). Cheers!
