I guess I haven't posted to this page since before I went to that Battle of the Bands. The Surf Report rocked pretty hard, maybe harder than a mortal man should rock in a small bar on the south side of Dubuque, IA. All the jumping around and dancing and generally going crazy with sheer rock energy made my entire body completely stiff for an entire weekend. I have been informed that The Surf Report was not the winner of the night, but I truly believe they deserved it. There are dark machinations behind all that we believe we see. I also volunteered with Klake at the reopening of the Old Capitol Museum in Iowa City. For one thing, I learned that when Iowa became a state, federal law required that slave states be admitted to the union along with another, slightly-less-bigoted state. On behalf of Iowa, I'd like to say we're really sorry about Texas. It's time I stopped procrastinating work and went home to procrastinate an entirely different set of mind-blowingly awesome stuff.
