Randy the Cat took an unscheduled week off, but is back this weekend with a comic strip about a barber shop.
Otherwise notable:
- We finally got our baby into half-time daycare, beginning June 2nd.
- The weather is lovely today. So begins the time of year when we cease cursing the jaunty tilt of Earth's axis and instead give it high praise!
- The baby loves to walk around holding your hands. Sometimes, he takes a step or two completely unaided (as he did this morning, toward his wonderful mommy).
- Klake and I will be trying to attend a University of Iowa baseball game today. Here's hoping we make this happen. I'm not a big fan of baseball but it's a free, outdoor activity, and I already know how scoring is kept, so it's possible to follow along.
- This eight-minute Doctor Who episode, made for the sake of charity using the actual actors, shows what would happen if the Peter Davison Doctor (#5) were to meet the David Tennant Doctor (#10). They do this kind of thing because fans go absolutely bonkers for it. I can think of other shows that would benefit from this treatment. I'd like to see a charity mini-episode of House wherein the eponymous diagnostician treats Bertie Wooster, also portrayed by Hugh Laurie.
- "The Alternative Factor" is the worst episode of Star Trek I have ever seen.
- I just don't bother reading news on April Fool's Day. If you are ever a reporter or blogger who finds him or herself trying to cook up a big, juicy April Fool's gag, you should stop and think about how doing so would make you a douchebag.
- You may have noticed that Clever Dad is going strong, while UFO Clearinghouse has withered on the vine. I got really bored with UFOs. It's like starting a blog documenting every time someone sees the virgin Mary on a piece of toast. Meanwhile, Clever Dad continues to be good fun to write.
