Slate magazine picks on Johnny Cash

"Johnny Cash, cornball" An article examining the legacy of Johnny Cash, and the image manipulation techniques of the recording industry. I'm not saying I agree with this article, I haven't heard his latest albums, but it is a fascinating look at effects of reducing a complicated life into legend.
Comments:
Cheesy or not, Rubin presented Cash in a way that the public wanted, and that is way his last albums were so successful. Cash still had a lot of input on these albums, probably including how he was presented. You can't blame it all on Rubin.Post a Comment
